National Safe Motherhood DayMothers are birth providers as well as nurturers, the Government of India and UNICEF are effectively enjoyed advancing safe parenthood rehearses. In wake of this, The National Safe Motherhood Day (NSMD) is commended consistently on April 11 in India to create mindfulness about giving legitimate medical services and maternity offices to anticipating moms and lactating ladies.

It was in the year 2013, that the Government of India declared April 11, as the National Safe Motherhood Day. India is supposedly the first country in the whole world to have officially declared a NSMD.

The theme of this year’s National Safe Motherhood Day is “Remain at home amid corona virus, protect mother and infant safe from corona virus.” Every year, a different theme is chosen to commemorate the day.
